Its not the back two wheels its the FRONT wheel.

Do you mean bogie, or drive wheel? You are still lacking the needed information. I would suggest lubrication/lube for this if it is a non-powered bogie. If it is a powered drive-wheel, then you may have an electrical problem. Don't know what to specifically do with that one as there could be anything that created the electrical issue, but I wish you the best of luck.

yes we know Emily should be made. don't get me wrong but she has the same chance as, lets say Edward for example. and you say if bachmann ever made Gordon or Henry, they would be close to $600, because they're big tender engines. guess who else is a big tender engine, Emily.  so that means she would also be close to $600. and if you want one really bad why don't you make one?

$100 difference is not that great if you think about it. Either way they will be pretty expensive. I'm glad I model in HO. ;) I put my money (bets anyone?) on Toby, Diesel, or Mavis.

I honestly think Toby has a great chance of being an LS model. He wouldn't be as expensive as James. I don't know who would even buy James. Does anyone plan on spending several hundreds of dollars (or whatever currency you use) on him? I'm not trying to talk badly about LS James, but I figure that the price is just so high for... well, a toy.

If you get down to the basics, the Thomas range by Bachmann is really meant to be a range of toys. They are great all the same, as any toy has the ability to be, but the prices are getting steep in some areas.

Cheers,

Yes I'm running them and pretty slow speeds. The only other things is that even at faster speeds they kind of stop for a second and then keep moving.

Congrats, there's your problem.  ;) Running the shorter engines at slow speeds over the switches will result in loss of electrical flow. There are fewer points of contact with the small engines because... well, fewer wheels. Larger engines (Gordon, Henry) can handle it because when one wheel is isolated without power, others are with power. The small engines won't work in this way.

You can probably invest in a product to power the frogs (the plastic part of the turnout), but for the sake of saving some money, just run your smaller engines a bit faster over the frogs/plastic to prevent the stopping of your trains.

Hope this helps and have a happy new year. :)

Figured he meant the actual front wheel. Sometimes that may happen, or at least I would suspect. Without weight the wheel might just glide over the rails and have little to no movement at all. On curves this may happen too. If it is a drive wheel(s), then you have an electrical problem.

Now I haven't noticed problems with Percy in that area, only Thomas and James. Percy has the issue of lacking a rear coupling hook. :-\

News in: I just put tape on and pulled it off my model a few time and it stayed perfect. Actually, better(well,...)

Well, where did you apply the tape to the model, and what kind of tape was it? If it was on a buffer or something then no paint would be removed. You need to put it on the decals, let it sit a couple seconds, and then tear it off. I promise you that some kind of damage to the paintwork/decals/something on the model will occur.

If you were to put tape on your Thomas model wouldnt the red stripes come right off? The are chipping off on my model and I dont know why. I was thinking of using a red sharpie marker and using it to the best of my abilities and make new stripes.

I have good reason to generally agree. I made my attempts to put James up to his full TV specs and after painting his wheels and his smoke-box black, his wheel arches were without their black stripes... I was furious and I still am about that. I also have a Thomas with wearing red stripes. I wish there was a way to fix this stripe problem without ripping out the Sharpie and drawing on the model like it was a blank sheet of paper. ::) I tried painting them back on and using masking tape to make fine lines, but the paint still went on its way and it was a mess. If there was only a way... (And for dramatic effects)  :'(

I got my Bachmann Gordon for $34 through an auction.  :P

I've had my considerations for doing online auctioning with Thomas models, but I figure that if I can drive a few miles to get it, why not? The exceptions are when the store either has a certain item out-of-stock or they just don't carry it. :P

The turnouts are definitely bachmann EZ track. I'm thinking it could maybe be some connectivity issues with the wheel except its happening on all of them. Like I said, its only when the right wheel hits the plastic part on the turnouts.

This happens with all switches if you are running the engine slow enough over the point-work. Are you running the engine slowly over it? I couldn't imagine anything else resulting in this.

If you want a orange coach without a face, cant you just scratch out or paint over Annie and or Clarabel's face? Just putting that out there.

You mean tan coaches, but I have known this awhile. Why else would I have 2 Annies?  ;) I personally would get rid of the faces, but I'm not sure what to do with the resulting flat side with two small portals for windows.

actually, just for fun, buy a various of bachmann Annie and Clarabel coaches. I talked to thompsonline often and he said he used a plastic friendly solution to pick up the paint work on annie or clarabels names and easily scrap away, dry up, and you have regular Tan Brachline Coaches with faces on them. I will try that later when I have my layout done. maybe you guys would do that.

I PMed him about that. What was it that he used - LifeLike Track Cleaner? I recall him also mentioning that you could just scrap away the name labels with your fingernail or with something. I don't think it would really harm the paintwork.

Saltys Dockyard Set is on the front page. It's been out for awhile.

Disappointing to me; there isn't even Cranky, a siding... Ah well, I already have all of the components for a dockyard.

So did you get the HO Snowplow by itself? If so, where? I've considered looking for it on eBay, but I was just wondering if Bachmann sold it separately or if it will ever be sold separately.

I theorize during production, the 5 coaches were made, and then two were made with faces. Shortly after their scenes were produced, the two with faces had "Annie" and "Clarabel" written on them, or their names were taken on and off whenever needed.

I could agree to that. I just know that they all weren't meant to have faces, such as each Troublesome Truck having a face.

It could have also been a necessity to save a bit of cash at this point in the series and use a model, or models, as much as possible, so Annie and Clarabel were doubled as 2 of the coaches in James' train.

well jettrainfan was rite, the Bach-man just gave us the official awnser. Since they pick with HiT, i wonder if Donald and Douglas will appear in the series once more. Yet there is still no Diesel, and he appears often now.

Were Bill and Ben in Season 13? 14? If not then maybe we can expect them in Season 15 because of their release, by the decision of HIT and Bachmann combined. Am I wrong? :)

Retooling an Annie/Clarabel model would be a fraction of the price. I'm going to make a tan coach with an extra Annie I got. All I need is to remove the face, the name label, and I need to paint the under carriage black.
but in the episode "James and the bootlace" they did have faces.

Even if this is an old topic, I'm willing to prove my point:

This is under the property of Thomas the Tank Engine Wikia.

The above picture is of Clarabel.  :P That is why you thought they had faces. Really, though, there are probably only 3 tan coaches without faces and the other 2 in the line of 5 were actually Annie and Clarabel. The model of coach is the same between those with and those without faces.

If you look at the coaches from ohh... let's say Edward's Exploit:

Those coaches definitely do not have faces. You could say I'm kitbashing (if it even is) those coaches. :P ::)

I asked for...

Bachmann:
Tidmouth Sheds
Bill
Ben
Salty's dockyard set
two add ons for the sheds

Salty's Dockyard Set, eh?...

What on God's green earth is that? Are there any stock pics? What is supposed to come with it? When was it released?! ::) :P (Don't judge. Everybody's allowed to get carried away with questions and emotion.)
