Thomas & Friends / Re: Gordon's Express set

Why? Its just Bachmann Gordon and two Express coaches, along with more straight pieces of EZ track.

It isn't. I've looked at the pictures of the dairy van, and it's built very differently from the cattle truck. I happen to own Thomas the Tank Engine: The Complete Collection, so I have access to the stories and illustrations whenever, which has helped me out of a fair few tight spots.
Stop acting like you know it all. :P I have the book too and its very close enough. You're wasting your time.

Far as I remember, the "Dairy Van" is pretty much just a cattle van but used to store other things, like milk, rather than cows. :P All you'd really need to do is detail up Bachmanns recently released said van. Kind of wasting your time here.

Sparks,
What about return postage? If it has a problem, that will create another problem with shipping again. :o

Yet Hornby is a bit better.
I've yet to have any trouble with such a thing. If you buy from Ebay, I think most shops have a 7 Day Return/Refund. Not sure. But my Bachmann Junior came with a wobbly buffer which eventually came off. Nothing a little modeling can't fix, heck detailing it up would be intresting. Most of my items I bought so far are second hand anyway, and some I'll probaly just use as spare parts someday, but not worth sending back. My Goods Van did come detached from its wheel base though due to shipping, but all I needed to do was put it back in place and its fine. :)

Honestly, if you have no idea what the show or books are like, you need to just stop everything, and do some research. If this is how you think a layout is made, you're way away from the reality. Trackmaster for the Skarloey Railway? NO. Learn how to do OO9/HOn3. As GG said, what are you going to do when something derails? Climb all over your layout? Something like this costs THOUSANDS of dollars to do, if not more.

Er.

Wow. Good luck?

How big is this in feet, do you even have an idea? It seems rather strange. I hate that "Death Buster Lab Tower" thing too. The Skarloey Railway sheds are unreal too. Do you even know a thing about the show?

It's the shipping for me, and also, he's right about the weak value of a dollar, the currency equal is pretty fair amount. But the shipping has it for me. :-\
Same here, but I usually save some extra bucks for Shipping and Handling, having the stuff is worth it in the end. Some Hornby models I prefer over Bachmann, but had they done a better job with Percy, Toby and Edward, I would of went for them. But instead I just go with Bachmann. Either way, you pay a few extra bucks, but you get a better result.

Why can't you all go for turntables and roundhouses made by European manufacturers? It helps get the real looks of the show. American stuff is just lazy and if you go quanity over quality.  ::)

ok i'll just keep on asking the question untill bachmann gives me an answer.
and U DON'T EVEN LIKE THOMAS SO WHY R U EVEN ON THE THOMAS DISSCUTION BOARD!
We just told you why Bachmann ISN'T going to answer your question dude. It would be such a small and unnecessary range that they wouldn't make enough profit off of it.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Thomas train sets
July 24, 2008, 02:22:11 PM
Chaz, that brings a point. They actually might of discontinued the previous set as they were planning to bring out the Mail Vans. I can see that set happening easily. (Percy locomotive, 2x Mail Vans, 1 Brake Van) I'd actually buy it depending on the price.  :)

As for a lot of the sets people are bringing up, keep in mind Bachmanns most likley to only make sets that have existing rolling stock. (Sans the Christmas set, but its a special) Henry and the Flying Kipper set is unlikley, as the train itself has been unheard of since Season 5.

I say don't expect sets and items to pop up every day. Bachmann isn't Learning Curve, and can't bring out stuff very quickly...

Thomas & Friends / Re: Can I see some Layouts?
June 13, 2008, 05:15:02 PM
I said the layout is not mine, but I run my engines on it a lot for good long runs. The layout belongs to one of the members, and its been working for a long time. And you're rather lucky, the clubs open again tomorrow, so I'll surely do some more photos.  :)

And yes I believe the setting of the layout is a quarry and small town. I regret running engines at high speeds at first. :P
