Is Bachman ever going to remake an outside frame 2-8-0 K27 of Rio Grande model?
Thanks Hewy

On30 / Running Dual Mode DCC decoder on Analoge DC
January 30, 2019, 10:45:37 AM
I just bought a new Bachmann 4-6-0 loco. The manual states sound will be present as it is DCC sound decoder also.
Did I read that incorrectly ? Loco runs very nice using DC controller MRC 1370 , bit no sounds.
Is there more needed to be added?

Dutchbuilder, I get it you dont think much of it. All I was looking for is the sounds.
I find DC works well,over the past 45 years . ::)

On30 / MRC Loco Genie

My layout is Analoge DC, however I bought a Bachman On30 4-6-0 with dual mode DCC decoder.
Just discovered MRC Loco Genei that might propel me into DCC operation at a reasonable price.
Anyone here use it ?

The 4-6-0 did not have a operators manual inclosed. Where do I get one ?
Also it came with extra parts, as optional changes, smock stack, fuel loads, cow catcher etc, but there is
an envelop containing  a brown powder substance ... what is that ?

An update to my original question. I called a Bachmann repair tech and was told DCC works fine on DC
analoge, no mods needed. So I bought a new 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler , placed it on my layout........
perfect running machine. The MRC 1370 transformers I have, allowed the loco to creep very very slowly
and as voltage is increased the speed steps are very prototypical.
The DCC loco must be totally separate from standard DC locos to avoid any damage to the decoder on board.

Voltage loss is OK , but will the loco run at slow creeping speeds ?
My power packs are MRC Railpower 1370 that run two other DC Bachman Mogals very slow.

On30 / Bachmann DCC with dual mode

I'm wanting to buy a Bachmann 0-4-2 Porter , but can only find DCC with a NMRA Dual Mode decoder.
As I run only DC analog , are these new Bachmann Locomotives able to run successfully on stranded DC ?
I assume dual mode means either DC or DCC .I read on line, most guys yes but  don't run very well .
So I guess theis as a question for the "Back Man" administer.

Interesting inputs, thanks. I'll stay with regular DC for now.  ;D

Howdy all, I have fallen for ON30 scale after many years as an HO driver.
Age , as some know , visually thanks the larger size of locomotives and rolling stock.
I do have  questions about DCC and DC analog. My layout is HO running with two MRC power supplies,
so the transition to ON30 is a natural. At the present I have no plan to go with DCC as I bought a Bachmann 2-6-0
that moves beautifully all speeds with a short consist. The current 5 block system on my short line HO gives me plenty of action combinations.
Is Bachmann's locomotive line up only available in one analog DC ? the Mogal 2-6-0 .
Will any other model, such as the Porter 0-4-0 DCC, perform with DC only ?
Thanks Mic.
