Even if parts are available, it might be cheaper to buy a used locomotive on ebay to use for part. It may even be better to just buy you a new locomotive. Today's locomotives are far better than the older models.
thats why i have a rail yard museum some are not worth a cent just decorating peices buy new with dcc installed and play work on those if needed. my frist tyco locos are in there beat to death with rails missing but yet i still remember them. the yard loco maintenance engineer said they use to much fuel hard to fix and they dont pull much just scrap them or just display them so the kids in town can play on them. and order ones that are more updated and save tons of time and money on your railroad. glad i took advice from him my loads make it on time and the engineers get to go home on time every night with pride. ;D
