Title: decaling
Post by: electrical whiz kid on March 13, 2012, 08:53:49 AM
Hi all;
from time to time I have heard about using a floor product called "future"  as a "preconditioner"  for decaling, and am curious as to how to go about it.
Thanks.

Future floor wax is used by some modellers to achive a high gloss finish on their models. It works particularly well on clear parts such as aircraft canopies. When applying decals it is important to put them down on a gloss surface in order for the clear decal film around them to blend in and not show. Basically if you are doing a model that has a flat finish you should apply a gloss coat and let it dry for 24 hours then apply the decals. After the decals have set you would apply a flat finish to the model. Any type of hobby paint can be used for the gloss or flat coat. Future floor polish renders an extremely high gloss finish that some folks prefer.
