HO / Re: Change from DC to DCCwith a new locomotive

I believe the 44932 replaced the 44901. The 44901 would probably work but I don't know that. I assume you don't want wireless.

Hunt,
Had the wrong item number. Should have been 36505 that comes with the 36507.

Bachmann has 2 control systems. The E-Z Command ® Digital Command Control System (44932) or the E-Z Command ® Dynamis ® Handset (36507). Bachmann website has more info on both.

Jonathan, Thanks for your help. I'll check Parts. I had another loco, a 2-8-2 that had a loose screw that I found early on.

Like you said, they're .30 ea. If I order 10 (can't hurt to have extra) the shipping is $7.30. What a deal. LMAO

Jonathan,

The following metal "moving" rods of the valve gear are all connected with rivets and pins until you get to the eccentric crank.  There is a long, shouldered screw that connects the eccentric crank, drive rods, and 3rd driver.

It is the screw in the picture.

HO / 2-8-0 Missing Tiny Screw On Drive Rod Attachment
January 26, 2021, 04:57:12 PM
I have a new Bachmann 2-8-0 that has a missing 'part'. There is a very small screw that attaches the drive rods and reversing lever to the main driver. When I took the loco out of the box the reversing lever was hanging loose. I couldn't find it anywhere in the box. Does anyone know what size it may be and/or where I might find a replacement.
I sent a message to Bachmann but haven't received a response. Exploded view documentation doesn't get to that level of detail.

Any help appreciated.

All that work that Terry did took approximately 15-20 minutes. I did the same thing he did.

HO / EZ Track Turnouts

I'm looking to replace a number of 'regular' turnouts. The 'regular' turnouts use an 18" piece of track to create a parallel track.

What can be used to create a parallel track for a #4, #5, #6 turnout?

Does the Pro Box 36508 come with the Wireless Receiver 36509. Most of the literature I see shows the 36509 in the picture. Also, what kind of distance or separation can I expect to get between the Handheld(s) 36507 and the Wireless Receiver 36509? Right now with the Basic Box 36505, if I get about 6ft away I lose the RF signal.

General Discussion / Dynamis Upgrade
January 22, 2021, 09:15:39 AM
I currently use the basic Dynamis Command - 36505. I'd like to upgrade to the Pro Box - 36508 to allow for multiple handhelds - 36507. Does the Pro Box stack with the basic box or is it standalone? Do I need the 'replacement' Wireless Receiver - 36509 or use the one I have? Does the replacement actually give extended wireless coverage? Where is the best placement of the Command module?

Thanks

HO / Dynamis System
January 21, 2021, 04:24:48 PM
I've been using the 'basic' Dynamis Control System since switching from DC to DCC. Have a couple of questions and concerns.

1. Unable to sort my roster into a meaningful sequence.

2. Seems to lose the signal between the controller and the handheld if you get approximately 6 or more feet apart.

3. Seems to lose the signal if you're not pretty much directly in line with it.

4. A couple of the larger locos  seem sluggish now that there are more motive power on the layout (not necessarily running, just
setting idle.  I assume they are still pulling a small amount of power from the rails. Should I add a power booster?

5. Would an upgrade help? Seems like a controller with a small antenna would allow 360 degree signal.

Looking for any and all sugestions.

Thanks
