Title: complete set monopoly

I have a still new monopoly train set--cant find any info on how old and what was the original cost

Not much. Check ebay for the price range but don't expect much. Old train sets have very little value. The best return might well be to give it to a child who will get more play value out of it than you'll ever receive as money.

I can't tell you the original MSRP, but there are still a few stores around with this set on the shelf.  Retail "sale" prices run around $200.  Auction prices are all over the map, as high as $150 on eBay.  Another auction site had the current price just under $40 when I looked.  Look carefully through any documentation that you may have with the set and you may at least get a hint at when it was made.
