On30 / Re: Laying On30 Turnouts Using Templates

keeping the bending rails stopping at the same place left to right requires some sort of stop unlike a point switch where the point bears up against the stock rail there is nothing on a stub switch to stop the bending rails at the right point.
_________

True. But it has occurred to me that the mechanism used to allign the rails of a turntable to tracks might be a direction somebody with the know-how can pursue. Not me - my VCR still flashes "12:00"

I think of MR as an HO magazine. Light Iron Digest and the Gazette are all I read mostly, even though I have RMC and MR subscriptions. Once they run out, fugetaboutit.

Bachmann has a shay. So more than anything, we need another shay. Right

Any chance the 2-6-0 would come out with sound or at least DCC . ::)

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

If not you could get one from Bachmann parts . :)

bachman does not have a "parts department"..never has had one.
they have a repair department, and sometimes you get a specific part from them IF they happen to have the part you want left over from a repair loco..
but you cant just order any part you like from Bachman..they dont do that.

Scot

True. I sent in an order for a pilot stay brace that was missing from my Forney as delivered. Never got an answer, so I will probably eventually make one myself.

You know how many here would love to have the original 2-6-0 mogul with DCC and sound? It's just about perfect in size and configuration. Just about everyone, I would think. So perhaps they could work on that and someday produce one. Meanwhile, we can play with the new 4-4-0's and the rest of the magnificent Bachmann On30 line of locos.

It takes about 1 minute or so  to convert the Grandt Line C&S caboose
  from 3ft to 2½ft gauge.  Happly converting HO,OO,S,On3 & O-27
for my 2½ gauge line.

I am curious as to what you do about couplers with the Grandt Line rolling stock, especially the cabooses. (cabeese?)

Mr. Bach-mann, if they are taking votes, put me down as very interested as well.

I lettered mine by cleaning the original painted surfaces with alcohol, then applying the decals using a thin wash of Champ's Decal Set. After it dries for about 24 hrs., I use more Decal Set full strength with a soft brush and let that dry. It results in no decal "blush" and I have been using that system for decades without problems. After I am satisfied that all is dry and ready, I spray it with Testor's Dullcote.

Oh, on freshly painted surfaces, let the paint dry until it has no odor before lettering.

That's my solution (no pun intended) and it may not work for everyone.

To the shayman: I lost my wife to cancer in 2005, which she had had for not all that long. Thank God you are getting good care. Keep fighting and put yourself in His hands.
My prayers are with you from now on each day I sign onto this site.

Mr. Bachmann,

Would it be possible to post a clear photo of the 2-6-0 with the new 4-4-0 to allow modelers to get a feel for the exact size of the upcoming 4-4-0?

Thanks.

Kevin

Great idea, Kevin!

The only thing is-one would have to solder the 8 wires to a 8-pin plug, nothing more. Just easy!
Kind regards, Tom

Ouch. 8 pin soldering again it is. Thanks,

Max, an EXCELLENT production. Choo-choos, Johnny Cash and all... You sure you are not infected with American blood, perhaps derived from someone in your family's shady past?

Dear Mr. bach-man,

Any plans on offering the new 4-4-0 with sound installed?  I don't want to get caught unaware as I was with the Forney.  I purchased a Forney as soon as they were announced and then was surprised a bit later when a version with sound installed was offered.

Mr. Bach-mann, put me down as well as interested in whether:
(1)they will have sound as an option,
(2)if they will be offered by a third party like the 2-8-0's which were available through Soundtraxx. Love them!
Or
(3)if I have to burn my fingers again trying to install sound systems in a couple of the little beauties.
