Title: Engines sold?
Post by: Bob Peterson on August 02, 2007, 09:01:31 AM
On another message board, the question has been asked as to what is the best selling Bachmann On30 engine.  Many experts have given guesses, with the two most logical being the Porter 0-4-0, or the 2-6-0, as it is the only "set" engine and Dept. 56 engine.  So I thought that I would ask the question where there might be a person or two who had FACTS as oppossed to opinion.

Bob,

You will find the 'best' is in the mind of the beholder and 'their' application.

Your application needs to be considered first. Both are excellent choices. Only you can decide. Better yet, purchase both for more enjoyment.

The answer to my question was answered on another board.  The 2-6-0, due to it being the initial release and the locomotive that goes in the train sets for Dept. 54, Christmas Village and the special release sets, not to mention all the ones purchased by model railroaders, has supposedly crossed the million unit mark in sales.

If that is true, wow!

      Jonathan,

    Question wasn't "best"but "best selling"i.e. most sold--see subject.
