Title: Hello I'm newbie in this fascinating hobby
Post by: flesland on July 17, 2008, 10:27:19 AM

Hey, friends my name is Nibaldo Soto from Chile South America, i'm recently entering this railroad modeling world and I'm very exciting about, actually I have bought a diesel locomotive EMD FT-A from BACHMANN and 14 days ago I bought a BACHMANN SPECTRUM Heavyweight B&O passengers set (4 pieces) and about this is my question.

What's the differences between Bachmann products and Bachmann Spectrum products ?

Thanks a lot for your answers !!!!

Bachmann Spectrum is top of the line.  The current Bachmann Standard lacks some of the detail of Spectrum, but it has the same fine running qualities - at least steam does.  I know little about Bachmann diesels.  The earlier Bachmann stuff is low quality, poorly made, and caused Bachmann to have a bad reputation for years.  Stay away from anything built before 1995.

It's like the Mustang's in Ford, the best by the company. Or just the better detailed, not to mention some features! Welcome to the hobby,
