General Discussion / Re: Hobby Shops In Philadelphia

When ever I travel somewhere I always take my Model Railroader Magazine and look to see what hobby shops are nearby. As always this message board is great too!

I use Anyrail full version for EZ Track and it it nice.   I would of liked that I was able to have better additional features like where to place my roads, buildings etc.  But  for track planning only it works nicely.

I am a little hesitant about asking about another manufacture again but here it goes. I saw the Intermountain Railway Co. "HO" AC-12 's with sound for a nice price and they offer layaway.  I have always wanted a Cab Forward. Since Bachamnn Does not make one I need to look elsewhere. Would love some opinions. On what company does the best cab Forward.

I I breached the rules I am sorry but according to the rules of conduct I can ask these type of questions.

Looking forward to the input.

General Discussion / Re: Pro Box computer hookup

What does the instructions say?  I searched Yahoo, youtube and Bachmann website and found nothing on it.  What parts it came with it?  I would like to get the Dynamis and eventually the Pro as well.  I assumed that it would of connected to the computer through a USB port.  if you have any pictures of the ports or wire that may help others to figure it out. Hopefully someone may have the answer.

I am going to follow this post and see how it tuns out.

General Discussion / Re: Holiday Train

Dear Schtein

I agree with Joe if you can take a photo of the track that can help us out.

I think I have the same set as you.  On our box on the side it says "New Bright" 380 Christmas train too.  Ours is about 9 yrs old. About three years ago I went back to the Hobby shop where I bought it and they did have replacement track but it had different joiners than mine. The hobby shop said that they updated to a newer style of track.  I was able to  find my type of track and the newer stuff on eBay quite easily then.

I was also told by my hobby shop and as also mentioned here on the replies here that I could try and use another G Scale track.  But I did not as I was not sure how to adapt the part that carries the power from the pack to the track. Sorry the name of that part escapes me now.

I just looked on eBay and did find track but not the stuff I have. What I was going to do at one point was switch to the newer track and sell the old stuff on eBay.

Keep us up to date on your progress.

Robert

Hope it all turns out.

To Mr Bachmann
Sorry about code of conduct rules being broken. But if you let me know how I broke it that would help me in the future.

I have read the code of conduct and do my best to follow the rules closely.  However for the first time a post of mine was deleted. I am just curiously why it was? There was nothing offensive, no personal attacks. My only guess is that there could of been a "copyright" or "trademark" infringement as I linked to another company but even then I have seen that before too and not topic removal either.  My last guess is it may of have to do with the sport team on the train itself and this may be the trademark infringement.

I guess I would of liked to know why a Post was removed especially if you are the one That created the topic.

Has anyone else had a post removed and what was it for?

General Discussion / Re: Bachmann track

I Love the favorite spot. They are just up the street from me.
They list everything close to the the catalog. The HO 36" are the same way. However these are 36" length rails with four 9" sections of roadbed. Bachmann should mention this.

Now the Favorite spot is not a Hobby shop nor are they Trains Experts.  But they have the best prices anywhere.  So I always reference the catalog if I have any questions. I have never had any problems with returns with them.

This was my sons first train set too!
I currently use the DCC switches that Bachmann offers.  It is a little tricky to operate them with the EZ Command Controller. You can program I think up to 9 switches of the DCC type. I do have the same problem with the engine pausing when I operate a switch. But the DCC switches do not require any wiring.
