Can a DCC locomotive be run with a regular power source?

Regular power source means a DC Power Pack. Make sure the Power Pack does not have pulse power. Decoders usually do not like DC throttles with pulse power.

The Bachmann can if the decoder has not had the DC function deactivated. That has been discussed a lot here. Take some time to look through the different forums. Do a forum search for DC Analog control.
Look at the advertising in product Information. Also, search for dual mode.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am new to this and don't understand all the terms, etc. How do I find out about pulse?
