Title: Ima newbie
Post by: brucethebrush on January 20, 2010, 11:52:52 PM
Hiya Friends,
I'm new to this particular facit of the hobby and may have jumped in over my head, but... I may be purchasing a 4-6-0 completely disassembled and am in need of an instruction or assembly manual. Alot of "ifs" but the aquatic foul are all lined up, ya know. And anyone know where I could find photos of a Baldwin 4-6-0 that Bachmann modeled their engine after? I want to detail and weather my engine. No bright, shiny for me, no sir. Thanks.

Bruce, It would be helpful if we knew what scale you are talking about. Good Luck :)

Bruce,

Is this a metal kit?

I'm building a Pennsy G5 4-6-0 at the moment.  It's an old Bowser kit.  There were no instructions, but I have plenty of pics of my build if you're interested.

http://www.northeast.railfan.net/ has multiple pictures of many steam locomotives.  That's what I use as my 'go-by'.

Since you said it was completely disassembled, I am guessing you are acquiring some sort of old kit with detail parts.

Regards,

Jonathan
