Mr Bach-man -
It was difficult to determine the size of the exciter in the Porter due to it's placement. If it's not infringing on a trade secret, how big is the actual exciter?
Thanks
-John
Dear John,
It's about the size of a dime.
Pretty cool!

Instead of a speaker!
I take it this means essentially the locomotive's body becomes the speaker?

Does this mean that an exciter is essentially the magnet and coil so that the body of the porter sis actually the "cone" of the speaker?
Thanks , it clear to me now.
essentially a speaker coil with magnet and you use the body of the loco as speaker cone.
