Title: 2-8-0 Headlight
Post by: stevek on February 06, 2008, 07:13:09 PM
Hello,
I have recently upgraded my older HO Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 to DCC with the Bachmann 44915 Decoder. All works well except the headlight is very dim. Can I reprogram the decoder to send more voltage to the headlight? Or should I replace the headlight bulb with an LED when using this decoder?
Thanks,
Steve K.

Try these Bachmann files for CV settings for headlight dimming ect.

http://jmri.sourceforge.net/xml/XSLT/pages/Bachmann_EZDCC.xml.html

http://jmri.sourceforge.net/xml/XSLT/pages/Bachmann_EZDCC_4fn.xml.html

Two different decoders ...one on the bottom is 4 function ...Both Bachmann....Hope this helps....there is a dimming function you can adjust via CV's...

If you're using EZ Command, the manual says Function 10 will give you lighting control.  I'm just starting in DCC, so that's about all I know.

The manual also has information about using a low voltage test track to program user-installed decoders.  I'm fairly new in the hobby, so I only have DCC equipped.

Good luck.
