Age and dexterity (dexterity mostly) would preclude such a repair for me, but I would gladly send it to Bachmann and pay for them to do it.  The trouble is, I am in the UK (where I bought the locos)

So a question for "Bacchy" - do Bachmann UK do the necessary repairs ?

Wonderful news, thanks   Is there any chance of the Conso being re-done with metal gears - or maybe just the chassis ?  I have two that are completely redundant (they look great, but that's about it  )

This is probably a silly question, but is the body shell from 81099 (the plain black Annie with the nylon gears) the same as 91607 (the plain black Annie with the metal gears ?

Disregard that - just seen it on Train World Online - it's the old Mogul re-done, shame because I was hoping for something new   

But what I do find a bit odd, is that there is no mention of metal gears ?  So the age-old problem will still exist - stripped gears, and for us that are not 100% adept at dismantling valve-gear and wheelsets (especially on the Conso !!!) another useless loco.

(That's the one with metal gears - as all large scale locos should always have been, Bacchy ! )
