On30 / On30 Crossings?
October 22, 2010, 01:59:40 PM
I'm about to embark on my On30 platform, but need some crossings for my track plan.  MicroEngineering doesn't have any, and I can't find any at Peco either...are there other manufacturers that make them, or will I have to handlay them?

On30 / Climax problem
October 02, 2009, 08:30:39 AM
Both my father in law and myself have this same problem w/ our Climax locos, purchased from different dealers. I purchased mine about a year ago, his was purchased just a month or so ago.

What's happening is that after running around the track for only a couple of minutes, the driveshaft connecting the motor to the bogies is coming loose and starts spinning freely.  this is happening on both the front and rear bogies.

we are local to philadelphia...is this something we can bring/send in for repair?

HO / Re: Securing Ez Track to table

do you put strips of foam inside the ez track roadbed, or are you putting the glue just along the edges where it contacts the table top?

On30 / Climax speed
June 19, 2009, 08:50:52 AM
Just curious how fast other people's Climax locos are moving.  Mine moves at a slow but steady clip around the track (haven't measured time/distance yet).  I know the prototypes didn't have the need for speed, but I want to make sure that mine is operating as intended.  FWIW, I'm running DC only on the On30 track.

The Plasticville bridge is no where near the look that i'm trying to get (replicating a real bridge in New Hampshire). The Lionel bridge is pretty much dead on.

What's the best way to cut through these plastic creations? I'm guessing a very fine tooth hacksaw...

I've decided cutting is the way to go.  I'd love to scratchbuild (done lots of it in the past w/ other modeling pursuits), but with infant twins and a 3 year old, I hardly have time to enjoy my trains as it is :)
