When making inquiries, it helps to give the stock number, it's on the box. Knowing how to search Google also helps. Keywords "Bachmann Village Express".

I don't know if it is made in other scales or not.

A simple Google search shows its 0n30 scale.

It depends on the search keywords, and how you define a "simple" search.

Since "tengler" did say Dept 56, it might very well be On30. Again, having the stock number would help.

Dept 56 train sets have been available in both ON30 and HO. It is possible that there have been others but I am unaware of them. The ON30 sets were made by Bachmann, I am not sure about the HO ones. Both HO and ON30 use the same track, 16.5mm (a little more than 5/8 of an inch) wide, measured inside of rail to inside of rail.  Measure a passenger car. If it is about 9 1/2 inches long, 2 inches wide and 3 inches high (including wheels) it is almost certainly ON30. If it is markedly smaller (especially in width and height) it is probably HO.
