Hi all. I have been looking at pics of railroad stations in the USA, and have seen quite a number of station platforms that are about 3 foot high, level with the passenger cars, doorways. Other platforms are almost at ground level. I am trying to find out the height of these platforms above ground. Are they level with the ties, or level with the top of the rail line. Hi everyone. I am building a "concrete" area on my HO layout in a factory area., using balsa as the "concrete". Between the rails I am gluing a ½" wide strip of 1mm balsa to imitate the "concrete" between the rails. The straight section is not a problem as I can cut strips ½" wide and glue them into place on the sleepers. Now comes the problem I have. Three of the tracks have a curve in them, to come out of the "factory" and through a level crossing, to the mainline. I want to glue ½" strips of balsa in between the rails of these three curved tracks. My question is this. How do I cut the ½" balsa to go around the curve. These curves are not a standard curve, and one has a slight "S" bend curve. Any tricks or ideas will be most helpful. Regards. Col. (Creamshed Col).

G'Day all. This time I am looking for a little help regarding cleaning of my HO track. At the moment I am building my layout, and laying tracks. In some areas, I have to lean across, and place my arms on some of the track. After a few days, my nickle silver track became very dull and grimy. I used one of those Peco tracking rubbers to clean the track of all the grime. The track came up nice and shiny, but I was astonished at the amount of grit that was in between the tracks. I took a length of flexi track, placed it on the bare layout table, and cleaned the rails with my Peco Track Cleaning Rubber. After cleaning this section of track, I tipped it on its side and tapped it on the table. I was shocked at the amount of shiny grit that was on the table from the rubber. I have decided to only use the rubber to remove spills of paint, glue, etc., that has fallen on the track. Any help with cleaning my track is much appreciated. I have purchased a bottle of Model Power, Track Cleaner, and a bottle of Rail-Zip. Both of these bottles have no instructions on how to use these liquids on my track. Can anyone help. I want something that I can wet a cloth with, and then rub the tracks to get off the grime on the rails. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards. Col.

Hi everyone. Would anyone know how I can dye green, the fibre, I think it is called poly fibre, that is used in some of those cheap pillows, and is also used in stuffing toys and cushions.

I have 4 old pillows, plus a 1kg bag of this fibre. I want to dye it green to use as tree foliage, bushes, etc around my layout.

G'day All from Down Under, 

I was wondering if anyone can assist me with my my Bachmann loco. When I got it out of the box, it ran perfectly. After about 10 minutes, it statred to jerk, jerk, jerk, around my layout. As it jerks, the headlight goes on and off. I realized that it would be a power pick-up from the wheels. I removed the cover over the drive wheels and after removing the drive wheels, saw that the axles were covered in oil and grease. I can see that the power pick-up is through the axles to the frame. I removed all the grease and oil, and it ran perfectly again. I don't like have the axles running against the frame, with no lubrication. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem.

I had all DC & DCC locos removed from the track to do the test. My DCC locos have addresses of 1 & 2.

By the way. I cannot reply to any of your answers, as when I do a message comes up and says my time has reached the timeout limit. It says to  logout and then login again. Re-write the message all within 5 minutes, and the message comes up again.

Just went and checked it out. The "Stop" LED is NOT blinking. The "Forward" LED is NOT blinking, and the No. 10 LED is NOT blinking. There is no LED at the function button. This unit is Item #36-500

Today. As I placed a NON DCC loco on my tracks, I noticed that the headlights came on. And the loco did not move. I checked my EZ-Command unit and it was set for NON DCC locos, (Button 10 LED illuminated). I removed the loco from the track. I got out my Digital Multimeter to measure the voltage on the track. I found that it was 15.4 volts AC. Would this 15.4 volts AC damage any DC loco that would be placed on the track.  When I operate the speed control knob, the DC loco works fine. And so does a DCC loco, at the same time. Regards. Col.

G'day All.  Would anyone know where I can download free A4 sheets of Brick, Timber, Galvinised Iron, Stone, Concrete, and the like, full scale so they can be printed on my printer, and be able to be glued to scratch built buildings that I make from Balsa wood. I have no idea what you can these sheets.

In the box that my Bachmann Ballast Regulator came in, there was a small plastic packet with two small pieces of black plastic, with two holes in each of them. Can anyone tell me what they are for, as there is nothing in the instruction leaflet.
