December 02, 2007, 05:38:55 AM
this is problem, which i think ,from what i read on this and other sites, although not affecting hundreds of locos,is more inconvenint ;) ;)ive had gear probs as well with usa nw9 locos, but the dealer handed over 4 axles, for both motor blocks no problem!as i said,if i get the axle from bachmann,i will change it over, these locos are to good ,as once the g/box is checked loctite,it will be fine, and can keep its k27 mate happy,in mid december,it will be here!!!!thanks again for the help, repls, peter in auzzie..

hi guys, just a quick question, the connie drive gears,on the axle, are they replacable,do you buy an axle with gear,i think thats the best bet,or just buy a rolling chassis, less motor etc,the motor, gears with it appear fine..thanks again,peter...also on k27,my green boiler, black drg loco maybe here for xmas,i hope looks fantastic.....

hi curmudgeon, many thanks for the info, makes for easy when you know how,now the problems are 1,THE MOTOR IS LOOSE ON THE MOUNT,2,THE DRIVE GEAR ON AXLE IS MISSING 4 TEETH,wich means replacing that axle,i think its not that hard ,as its in bits, motor gears appear fine, how doi go about parts, direct from usa,or the local dealer here,in melbourne.again many thanks for your help, cheeers peter...............

hi bob, here in australia,if a dealer did that to us,it would be the same, but fortunatly we have a lot of good dealers sure, there not perfect, but what can you do when all large scale trains are imported from china or usa.i will say one thing,so far with me buying of ebay, mostly from usa, most go out of there way to help, keep you happy,i agree, the k-27 is my next loco, but the price in auzzie is at least double, plus post to what you pay in the states,so ithink i will take a chance on a dealer in usa who is big,and have insurance!!!!!!!!!any suggestions??happy trains, peter in auzzie..
