Has anyone used an AR-1 for a simple point-to-point trolley operation? I have opto-sensors on order to put at each end and wire according to the instructions.
I would also like the trolley to pause at each end for a few seconds. Would I need to add relays for that? Thanks for any help and I would prefer not to have a lot of other ideas shared with me.

Which trolley are you talking about?
If it's a DCC model, your best bet might be a Train Shuttle controller: http://www.tamvalleydepot.com/products/trainshuttle.html
Uses rail gaps to detect the the trolley's position, and has adjustable speed and pause duration.
The Circuitron AR-1 does not include delay.
For adjustable time at each end delay use Circuitron #800-5401 AR-2 Automatic Point-to-Point Reversing Circuit with Adjustable Delay for DC.
We have an AR-2 installed on our club's trolley line and it works great. The end delay is adjustable. We have it set for about 45 seconds which seems OK for our purposes.
