Post by: russ on January 07, 2009, 07:08:30 PM
MR. B

I want to paint a caboose to match the D&RGW coach p/n 89791 and was wondering if you could give the best paint type and color to match?

   Thanks
   Russ

Dear Russ,
I used AccuPaint Grande Gold on the prototypes.
Have fun!

Most of the cabooses on the Rio Grande narrow gauge and its successors are/were painted Tuscan/Boxcar red. 0500 on the D&S is a brighter red.  None are yellow.  gj

Thanks for the info guys, I found Scalecoat D&RGW yellow.  I want to paint the caboose to match, but letter it for my own line.

   Again thanks

Roundhouse made a "G" scale caboose in "Bumblebee" several years ago. I twas molded in color so you could remove the lettering with Solvaset and reletter it for your own road. The problem is finding on of these cabooses. Check with ebay!
