Title: Thomas dcc upgrade help
Post by: Ty.the.railroad.guy on August 21, 2023, 03:55:13 PM
Hey,
I'm wanting to upgrade my Thomas to run on my DCC layout and I was just wandering if I need to remove the 103 yellow resistor before I solder the decoder to it?  I'm using a digitrax DH126 decoder if that helps any.
Thanks

Hi there,

I found this video helpful for my first Bachmann Thomas & Friends conversion.  I recently converted Duck.  I am not sure about the "103 yellow resistor", but as you'll see in this video you need to cut away the existing circuit board.  Good luck!

Yes, but that yellow 103 resistor is actually a filter capacitor, you should remove it if you would like to properly convert your Thomas to DCC, otherwise it could cause intermittent running issues.
