Title: eZ COMMAND WIRING
Post by: sooner49 on March 26, 2015, 04:42:17 PM
I just bought a dcc set and everything is okay.  I have a problem that I s[ent many hours trying to fix.  I has a  dogbone shaped.  reverse loop on each end connected by a single track. My problem is this.  The loco enters either loop okay but when it enters the connecting track the engine doesn't just stall it slams to dead stop, I have to assume that it goes out of phase with the connecting track.  Without going to the expenses of buying expensive automatic reversing modules, is it possible to manually.  I have looked everywhere I can think of books, internet etc..  Can this be done if so how?  The layout was already completed when I wanted to use dcc.
A[ pieces of information,  both ends of both loops are isolated on both ends of the loop  This is my first layout so I'm stumped.  Any help would be appreciated

To do it manually: http://modeltrains.about.com/od/track/ss/Reverse-Loops_2.htm
to do it electronically:  http://tonystrains.com/product/onguard-og-ar/
With the switch, you have to remember to throw it the correct way. With the DCC auto reverser, it does it automatically.  Joe

A drawing or pic would be a good start. If you indeed are running your set up with a dog bone that connects back into the main line I don't even see how you are operating, it should be a direct short causing the EZ Command to start blinking and beeping. On the reverse loop I use Bachmann's auto reverser and the track that is made to hook it up. A lot easier and works well. The reversers I got for around $20.00 ea. and the terminal reverse track was I believe around 20 to 25 bucks but is not necessarily needed to use the modules.
