General Discussion / Re: Oregon Lumber Co.
July 03, 2011, 09:32:38 AM
Somewhere on the Coast....  I remember seeing a Depot on HWY 1,  in Oregon, (or northern CA) that had a good display and a lot of info on the Logging industry.  I know that does not help a lot, but it is a  start.....

HO / HO shay lube oil type
July 03, 2011, 09:28:11 AM
What oil should I use with plastic to metal gears, as with the Shay.  I use the Hob-E Lube system, from Woodland Scenics.  I had to replace the entire side frames on this loco due to the gearing problem.  I am hoping to be more attentive on the maintenance part of the hobby!!
Thanks ,

Dear All,
Does anyone know what lettering is on these units?  I need to re-letter one to change the NUMBERS.  I think it is SILVER 1/8 inch numbers, but I do not know what font to order.  Mr. Bachmann might be able to find out....
Thanks for the help.

General Discussion / Re: bachmann dcc system
May 17, 2011, 08:05:58 PM
I have several sound locos, and the ez-dcc system works for them all.  This includes Bachmann, Athearn, Atlas, Lionel and Inter-mountain locos.  Steam IS king, but I do have Diesels as switchers.

Sure have.  According to the diagrams the loco comes apart just as the standard ones did.  I just want to not hurt the decoder wires if they run through the boiler, and not under it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

HO / Take apart DCC On board 0-6-0 Standard???
April 30, 2011, 09:36:30 AM
I have now installed DZ125 decoders into 2 0-6-0 standard line engines.

Thanks for the parts from RICHG!!

The DCC ON BOARD one that I have......  Has a ugly decoder in the CAB!!

I want to take this apart, and reinstall a DZ125 decoder.  The problem is when I try to take the boiler off, something is still holding it on....

Are the wires,  that go into the cab to decoder, UNDER the boiler?  Or through it?

Has anyone actually taken this NEW unit apart?
Mr. Bachmann, can you ask the powers that be??!!
Thanks, hotrainlover

HO / 4-8-4 Diagram (old standard line)
April 16, 2011, 08:46:24 AM
Dear Mr. Bachmann,
Where can I download the diagram for this engine?  All the ones in the site are newer than the one I have.  Mine does NOT have any connections to the tender.  I want to install DCC, and need to take it apart.
Thanks for the help!

(PS:  If anyone has this diagram, please email it to me at the address listed on here.)
