Title: Brass miniature semi-tubular rivets
Post by: g-guage_trains on July 14, 2013, 11:50:58 AM
Hello All, I have been repairing my handcar handle and I want a small rivet. Can someone tell me a source for brass miniature semi-tubular rivets, not 100's?
Thanks, alanrr

Alan,

Check with Micro fasteners and Special Shapes (they ship for K & S).

How small a rivet?  You might be able to make one out of brass or aluminum rod.  Flaten one end to make a head, clip it off at length and start to flatten the other end to close it (or kust flatten it so it stays in place.

If it has to be a tube, start with a piece of brass or aluminum tubing, even easier, just flare the ends.
