Title: Best oil for multiple engines
Post by: Mwehr1974 on February 15, 2021, 12:47:09 PM
I have a new Bachmann HO scale engine and an old Tyco Spirit of 76 engine.
What is the best oil to use on them? Can I use the same oil on both? And do I need grease as well for one or both of them?

Thank you!

Take care and God Bless!!

I( have been using LaBelle oil and grease for years. On Amazon. Grease with PTFE is very good for gears.
I know Bachmann sells their own versions.

Pretty much any light oil marked "safe for plastics" can be used. Sewing machine oil for modern machines with plastic moving parts works, and is readily available. Apply with the tip of a toothpick.

As Rich said, LaBelle is also a good choice. As are the oils offered by Bachmann and Atlas.
