Williams by Bachmann / Re: "e-Unit questions"
July 27, 2014, 07:22:54 PM
I wish Williams would produce e-unist that could be set to start forward or reverse withjout having to rewire the motors leads. It should be that difficult! Just MHO!

Williams by Bachmann / Re: powering up a dummy unit
June 22, 2014, 04:33:44 PM
These power units are NOT an effortless installation as depicted in the "adds". Williams should include a small DPDT switch in the circuit which the purchaser can set before installing the shell. That way the unit will be in sinc with existing units as required by the owner without having to unsolder the motors leads and switch them.

I would be happy to show you my cotter key stanchions but I don't know how to attach a photo to my post. Computer skill for me are basic!

I have the SF F-3. Isn't it the old AMT configuration?

See my post above--cotter keys really work! My tank car keeps getting knocked over by the cats. I have placed almost all of the original stanchions with small cotter keys. They work!

I had several of these handrail stanchions break on me. You have to be clever with Bachmann equipment and fix them yourself. Bachmann DOES NOT supply an abundance of parts to repair their G Gauge. I would recomend you remove all of the remaining stanchions and replace them with small cotter pins. Once you Paint them black and ACC them to your handrails once installed, they with not break again. They might get bent, but not break!

Mine was so unreliable I converted it to run from battery in a trailing boxcar! I don't even know where the controller is !

HO / E-Z Track 36 inch straight
November 02, 2012, 09:59:21 PM
Unless I am misreading the HO Product information, the only way to purchase 36 inch straight section of E-Z is in "bulk" at $380. I guess its time to check out e-bay!

My experience with the passenger cars is that the solder connection at the truck usually comes loose! This has happened on a number of my Jackson and Sharp passenger cars. Not a particularly easy fix as you generally have to disassemble the car in order to gain enough wire for a resolder. While you are at it, reinforce the solder joint at the other truck, it will save some future grief!

On30 / 0-4-0 Gas Mechanicals
May 22, 2012, 01:15:50 PM
Your Customer Service Dept informed me you do not produce , service, or repair the little 0-4-0 Gas Mechanical! This is disappointing! It was a cool little locomotive especially with the little mine cars! I sent mine in for repair and they sent me back a Porter 0-4-0. Those are notoriously poor runners due to poor electrical pick-up from the track! The apologized but said they were not told why the Gas Mechanicals were dicontinued! Be advised!

My "G" Gauge buddies say the 4-4-0 will negotiate the Aristocraft 5 foot radius track with no problem!

Williams by Bachmann / Re: 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler
April 24, 2012, 11:41:00 AM
I am always surprised when manufacturers of steam locomotives insist on coal tenders. The top of the tender should be removeable so an oil twender top can be inserted. Also, my O gauge train buddies and I agree that the ten-wheeler's tender is too big!!!!

General Discussion / auto reversing board.
April 08, 2012, 11:57:27 AM
Is the Auto-Reversing circuit board available for separate purchase and do you think it would operate an O Scale 2-rail piece of track with train?

I read about the new Version 6 Annie! Can the Version 6 Annie front truck be retrofitted to a Version 5 Annie?

Does that mean, therefore, that the bumpers go on the outside of the regular sections of EZ track?
