Title: Simple R/C
Post by: julian wilson on May 12, 2007, 01:16:06 PM
I would like to have a simple and rugged R/C train that visiting children can run and handle.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Bachmann has not manufactured a R/C model locomotive for over a decade. However their large-scale locomotives are used by those with after market add-on R/C control.

Simple and rugged are subjective terms.

Most all readily available R/C systems for use with large scale model locomotive are easy to use once installed. Ease of installation depends on your electrical knowledge, R/C system selected and locomotive selected.

Suggest you post your question on www.mylargescale.com  (http://www.mylargescale.com) for lots of opinions.
But you need to add answers to
Do you want to use on-board battery power or pick-up power from track?
Will the train be run indoors or outdoors? Both? Also, give your definition of Simple and Rugged.
