I just bought some Soundtrak motor decoders & am doing my first install.  The decoder has the 8 prong plug plus two additional wires, one brown and one green.  I've plugged in the eight prong plug,correctly I hope, and I have those two loose wires.  Can the brown and green wires be clipped off or do they need to be connected somewhere?

Has anyone changed the pilot on the consolidation or on the 4-6-0?  Are the existing pilots removable?

We just saw an old John Wayne western movie last night, Three God Fathers.   My guess is that it was filmed in the Owens valley on the old Carson and Colorado.  The loco was #9 a 4-6-0 complete with whale back tender and pulling a flat car/horse car and a combine.  This is a 1948 movie.
