Wyatt,
My wife bought the Williams Santa Fe F3's for me about four or five years ago. They are very nice looking and run great. They are real tree stump pullers too! ;D I picked up a seven car set of MTH RailKing Santa Fe passenger cars to run with them from my local hobby shop, Parma Hobby. The cars and A-B-A F3's look great together!!

Wyatt,
All of these positive reviews are making me "Antsy" to get my hands on one, preferably for me, an NYC version. Thanks, Bob.

Classic Toy Trains Magazine has a review of the Williams by Bachmann NYC GP-30 in their next issue. On-Line if you are a subscriber is a short video review of the same locomotive. I like the new sound system.  ;D If you are a subscriber you can watch the video.

Williams by Bachmann / Re: RS3 by WBB

Wyatt, Lee, Dominic and Gene,
AND Mr. Bach-mann,
Add my name to the list of persons hoping to see an Alco RS3 from Williams by Bachmann. Especially if the first run contains a Pennsylvania Railroad unit. ;D

IMO, the level of sound would not stop me from purchasing a Williams by Bachmann GP-30. I love the way these locomotives look. I plan on purchasing a NYC GP-30 when business and my hours pick up at work. We are usually slower with fewer hours available during the Winter months.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. The tunnel portals and matching wall are from Scenic Express and the tunnel walls (random stone) are from Micro Mark. The random stone walls are actually a self adhesive paper sheet which I applied to foam board walls. The foam board is stapled and glued to 1x4 supports. I plan on ballasting inside the tunnels and then putting a ceiling on the tunnel. After the tunnel is finished I will build the mountain over it.

It is a pretty good idea that M1FredQ proposed about a GG1 being made in between the traditional sized GG1 and a scale sized GG1. Especially if it could negotiate 036 curve track. The only problem I see is that it would really muddy the picture of GG1's available. Plus the cost for any manufacturer to make one. There are no guarantees of how well it would sell. Traditional sized GG1's  still sell very well, it seems every manufacturer makes one. And scale sized ones also sell well. I do not own one yet, but when I finally do purchase one, it will be traditional sized. ;D And it will be a Williams by Bachmann version. ;)

Williams by Bachmann / Re: 2013 Passenger cars

I agree with TraimmanGene, let's wait and see. We  must give Bachmann Industries the benefit of the doubt. We have to wait until April and see what other new items may be comming. Bachmann has been in business for a long time. I highly doubt that they would have bought Williams Electric Trains just to shut it down. They bought Williams to expand their business by getting into Three Rail O Gauge where they had no presence.
Also, perhaps they want to clear out some old inventory which their Dealers have  in preparation for future products. I am hoping as old locos are re-released they will have the newer sound systems. The only thing I regret would be their decision to not produce dummy versions of hood units. And, I also noticed in the 2013 Catalog even the Alco FA units no longer are shown with dummy B units.
Perhaps as GP9s, U33s, BL2s are re-released they will have direction lockout switches on them making it a little easier to doublehead trains while using two, or more, powered units. That would atleast make it easier for us to run multi-unit trains if they are no longer going to make dummy units.

Mr. Bach-mann,
Since the EMD GP-30 is a run away smash hit met with rave reviews (most recent issue of O Gauge Railroading), can we expect other new locomotives of the same quality from Williams by Bachmann? I personally would like to see some Alco units. Perhaps an RS3 or RS11? I would eagerly pick up some of those if they were of the same quality as the new GP-30. I plan on ordering a New York Central GP-30 in the next couple of months when my hours pick up at work. From all that I have heard, you guys hit a grand slam! :o

Is anyone else interested in a Williams by Bachmann Alco RS3 or RS11? Even an RS1 would be awseome!! Please feel free to pile on!  ;)

Okay, I worked on my tunnel some more today. It is slowly getting there. I got some of the walls up. I need to finish the other tunnel portal supports and run the walls up to it. I ballasted some of the tunnel also. In one photo you can see my Williams by Bachmann Baldwin Shark diesel going on a "Test Fit".

The curves inside of the tunnel are 48 and 60 inch diameter. Hopefully that will lessen the odds of any derailments. Actually, knock on wood, I have had none in this area in the three years since I built the layout. The tunnel is short enough that I can reach into it from either end.

Mike,
Welcome to the World Of Williams Electric Trains. I started with an A-A set of Pennsy Alco FAs and I now own six WbB locomotives. You will be very pleased with the Williams product line. ;D

Roger,
Thanks. Will do. I have already thought of that. I learned that years ago on an HO layout I built as a teen.  ;)
Thanks, Bob.

My only disappointment is that the Pennsy NW-2 is gone. I can probably find one on line. I bought a B&O NW-2 last year and I really like that locomotive very much. It is an excellent runner, great puller and has enough detail to make me happy!! ;D  Great job Williams by Bachmann!!! Hopefully the Pennsy Alco FAs will return in 2014 or 2015 and with new cab numbers on them. ;)

Here is my Williams Pennsy Hudson steam locomotive comming out of the tunnel.

In the older photo below, the ends of the tunnel are going to be at the signal bridge at the top of the photo and by the fourth coal hopper above the house.
