Title: NMRA Plug
Post by: nickleplateguy on December 30, 2014, 12:26:32 AM
I have obtained a Bachmann Spectrum 4-6-0 (model no. 82301, 02,03,04, don't know which). It has a DCC decoder in it, but I want to run it on a standard DC layout. There is no 8-pin jumper plug to convert it to DC.
I have blank 8-pin plugs that I can use. How do I wire it to make the locomotive operate on standard DC?

Remove the decoder and replace with jumpers. If the board doesn't have an 8 pin socket then you can't use the jumper plug.
The following image shows a correct jumper plug, note to connect pins 1, 2 & 8 and pins 4, 5 & 6.
