I would like to move my 2-6-0 tender lite from the side to the middle but I can't get the the fixture to come loose when gently, pulling up on it. I have a hunch it's glued on rather than just held in by friction.
Any suggestions on easy removal?
Thanks,
Barry
Plastic adhesives do not like getting cold. Put the tender shell in your freezer for a while (some leave it over night). The glue should let go, with a little persuasion.
Be careful, as other glued-on parts will want to come loose as well, like grab irons.

Jonathan
Thanks, Jonathan...it's sitting in the freezer now.

It is glued in. For best results, when it's out of the freezer try persuading it from inside the tender shell. A nice thumb pushing on it from below should make it pop on out.
Thanks, bb I'll give that atry tomorrow.

Sucess! The tender lite came off with a little effort pushing it up from below with a small, screw driver and after having been in the freezer for a day. I will now patch the 1/8" hole where it was and drill a centered hole for the new one, un-screw the interior light source, move it to center and fasten it with double sided tape.
Thanks, gentlemen, for all your help and suggestions.
