On the speed note. I have never seen an engine to react right away on a transformer/controller. After 10 smph, okay, but usually when you get to 20, it will start to move. It's like they need a bit more juice to get going, so the extremely slow speeds will probably not happen. Now that I think of it, the new ones (Edward, Mavis, Salty) might react better but I'd have to test it.

That's why I was asking. Because Salty and Mavis started moving around 15. So 35 is normal for the older models? ???

I think you can buy some conductive lube from bachmann and put some on tobys wheels, and clean the tracks thouroughly, electrical contact might be the problem, as I did.

hope this helps

I don't think it's the track. I will look into the lube. But he is brand new, so I didn't think I'd have this sort of problem.

Thomas & Friends / Toby's speed
April 08, 2010, 07:30:23 PM
I just bought Toby, Mavis, and Salty. And first off I'd like to say they are great models. But Toby won't run until I'm up to about 35 on the Bachmann controller. So I was wondering is this normal, or do I have a defective Toby? Any help is appreciated. :)

and Donald and Douglas?

I wonder why they never did the episode of the missing coach?

The answer: Britt Allcroft decided that this episode would be too difficult for young children to understand, and so the crew filmed Thomas, Percy and the Coal instead. It is assumed that Donald and Douglas swapping tenders to fool the Fat Controller is what would have made the plot hard to comprehend.

This is fact. It's on the Sodor Island Fansite somewhere.

General Discussion / Removing paint

I think this has been asked before, but how do you remove paint from a plastic body? I want to change the number on an engine I have, but I don't know how to remove the old number.

The Bachman said there wasn't an announcement for Donald and Douglas. Could this mean there was one  for Duck?

The Bachmann catalog says that only Thomas, Percy, Toby, Mavis, and Salty can run on 15'' curves. If Duck is released I'm sure he will be able to too. I'm not to sure about Wiff though.

This is interesting
I wonder why the books I had never had the faces??
I know the railway built by the REV Awdery certainly did not have faces,
and where accurate models of the specific locomotives in all except colour
regards John
Do you have the books or remember what the titles were? Could you upload some pics?
