I doubt I'll spend any time making up and breaking these trains but I'd like to get them closer coupled and a little better looking. Also the 4-4-0 tender coupler.
EZ Mate shorts OK?
ftauss,
I would think they would be perfect for your use, but I'm wondering are the non-operating knuckle couplers still available? They seem to be or have been popular in the UK. I was on a Bristish site last week where this question came up. Maybe the Bach-mann can clarify they're availablity.
I use Dapol's NEMCOUP for my British passenger cars with NEM pockets for the same reason as yours. I don't switch out car sets often. They're a fraction of the cost of magnetics.
If the EZ Mate dummies are not availble you might try the T-shank dummy coupler form the "Red Caboose". They are availble in three lenghts.
