Tender too small to house a steam sound decoder so i need a flat car with junk loaded on it to hide the decoder printed board itself. the speaker wire is long enough to go back to the locomotive. So i have a three vehicle installation and I bet a case of beer I am gonna get flamed by the club  ;D ;D ;D

HO / 4-8-2 Achiles heel, Bachmann #82505
April 12, 2009, 04:47:28 PM
what I thought was a programming error ( my problem ) turns out to be what I consider the Achiles heel of this locomotive.  Part numb H816X-MT018 is a pad with two copper rails and fingers that contact the driving wheels. Somehopw, if these fingers are not precisely located on the wheel surface, the spokes grab and mangle the finger. Bummer and I hope bachmann industries still has that part number in stock

HO / BACMANN 4-4-0 DCC Equipped #83405
April 10, 2009, 12:17:58 PM
Finally took mine out of the box, love the " burning wood ' option. Runs well but does not like to have the locomotive address changed. So i run it on address 3. I have the MRC Prodigy Advance square system. Just won't accept address change. It has been in the box for six months before powering up.

HO / wires came off tender connector 2-10-2
March 20, 2009, 04:08:20 PM
I knew this would happen eventually to me and it did. Two wires came off the tender connector ( stiff wires as described in other posting ). Is there a diagram that shows which wire goes to wich connector at which location ? These wires are black, not color coded to function.  :'(

I have broken so many tabs in the past, this time I want to do it right. I have a brand new BACHMANN 8-40CW Diesel loco, BACHMANN # 83-502. How do I remove the shell to install a sound system ?  the picture diagram is not clear.

HO / 4-4-0
June 13, 2008, 12:22:21 AM
Just got my 4-4-0 Richmond DCC equipped. I thought it was odd the programming is so simple, except for F10 and F1 you have to do nothing. At least that is what the manual with the beast indicates. i will run it tomorrow. I did remove all the foam pieces under the truck.

HO / turn outs
April 13, 2008, 04:10:43 PM
I was running a 2-10-2 on an oval ( dcc test track with turnouts 0 and it seems to catch something at the approach and subsequent travel thru the turnouts causing a magnificent major bloody rail road wreck. the carnage is immense requiring major closure if the track and reroute of the Amtrack Orient exxpress. Has anyone had trouble with the ATLAS code 100 turnots part number 861 ?  :'(

HO / german steam locomotives
December 09, 2007, 11:13:10 PM
Did any american troops " capture '  german locomotives and brought them here to be used ??? I am sure the boilers were good except those with 50 caliber holes thru them. Maybe Bachmann can offer a 2-10-2T  tank loco ?

HO / tender removal
December 07, 2007, 03:18:42 PM
I broke the tabs holding the tender body to the tender frame. There are no instructions on how to do this elegantly. Perhaps BACHMNNN can add more complete instructions in their manuals so us rookies can do this without breaking things.
