Title: The GE DASH8-40C Reintroduction...
Post by: TJ on June 09, 2013, 03:42:11 PM
I am curious to know how this run of BACHMANN N SCALE GE DASH 8-40C is different from the 1996 and 2003 run especially when the loco shell is overall the same? Is it that the chassis was only  improved?

Maybe the Bach-Man or someone will answer your question.  The Bachmann Home Page photo looks like the old GE Dash8-40C with Rapido (crummy outdated) couplers and body riding high on the wheelsets.  The factory pricing appears above that of modern N scale diesel locomotives from Atlas and Kato.  Added cost would be required to replace the Rapido couplers with working knuckle couplers.  My advice would be to look at one at a local hobby shop and avoid ordering one sight unseen!
