Title: what do I need for 22" radius figure 8?
Post by: lyman guy on February 12, 2020, 06:33:14 PM
Hello, I am building 4 separate tracks, 3 HO scale and 1 N scale layouts on a multi level layout. I would like to make a 22" radius figure 8. Nothing fancy, just a 90 degree flat crossing. Does anyone know of a site where I can see what exactly I need to make this happen? Thanks for any help.

Use 45º crossing not 90º for flat figure 8

Track - nickel silver gray roadbed

# of pieces   item #
28               44503, H0 Bachmann E-Z Track, Curve radius 22"
4                 44512, H0 Bachmann E-Z Track, Straight 3"
4                 44514, H0 Bachmann E-Z Track, Straight 4.5"
1                 44543, H0 Bachmann E-Z Track, Crossing 3". 45º

A flat Fig-8 using a 90deg crossing can be done, but it will be roughly 9-1/2 feet long:

24 - 22" Radius Curves
8 - 9" Straights
4 - 3" Straights
1 - 90º Crossing

The 2" Straight filler pieces used with the 90º crossing to make an 18" Radius Fig-8 aren't needed.

Both replies will work for me. I have a 4' x 10' main table with a 4' x 4' at one end like a stubby L. Thank you for your help. When I get my vision done, I will attach a pic to this topic.
