Title: How to reset a DCC sound equipped locomotive
Post by: quark51 on December 27, 2019, 12:55:29 AM
I bought a Bachmann ho scale SD70ACE from Amazon warehouse deals and the sound comes on but the loco does not move and the lights do not come on. How do I reset the loco so I can run it without a dcc controller? I do not have a dcc controller, just regular dc. I rather not have to send it in if I can avoid it.

You'll need to put it on a layout with DCC control to reset it. If you have a local MRR club or hobby shop, they may be able to do it for you.

With DCC sound decoders , on DC the loco won't start to move until around 7 volts or so. You will have a limited speed range.   Joe

Thew microprocessor does not wake up until the DC is about five volts.  Typical for digital IC's.
Couple;e more volts for the loco to move. Nature of the beast.
