Title: Crossing signal
Post by: JAS on January 28, 2008, 07:33:27 PM
Hello,
I saw an ad for an EZ-Track crossing signal assessory.
The crossing arms move automatically when the train passes over the track.
How does it work? Is it electrical or mechanical? Can I use it on my DCC system?
Thanks,
JAS

It's mechanical and I'm afraid to report it's pretty crappy.  The arms bob up and down while the train goes by.  It's may be fun for a child's set, but I regret having bought it.

I agree with The OldMan.  I too regret getting one.  What is needed, in my opinion, is a 'sensor' in the middle of the crossing signal, not just either end.  When longer stock rolls across they do bob almost back to open.  Not even close to realalistic(sp?)

I was afraid that would be the answer.
Thanks for all the replies!
