digitalgriffin,

Do you see any issues with running this light setup as descriped on the website for DCC?

Dan

ps. I have 18 SP Daylight cars to light... This could be a less expensive way to get some (Alot) of light in the cars.

I also think a deflector under the lights to create indirect light

Thanks for responding!

I have a source for which I can buy this decoder for $30 (NEW)
All over the net this one is listed at $75 -$119 (For which I agree spending my money else where would be smarter)
I was hopeful it would work for an entry level decoder into steam sound, Querky sound is better than no sound, I hope

I spoke to the author and he said he did this two years ago.

Anyone want to weigh in on this?

Hello All,

I purchased a Awesome Daylight Locomotive (DCC) and want to add sound at a reasonable price.

I found this one, 1630 SHEER BRILLIANCE STEAM DCC HO and would like to know if anyone can tell me if it will work with my engine. I was told that it was 5 yrs old (Im ok with that) (Im not looking for superior quality)

Specs:
MRC DCC STEAM SOUND DECODER. BRAND NEW IN FACTORY BOX. Features: Different chuff sounds (4 articulated & 4 non-articulated), 12 different whistles and 4 separate bells, 18 accessory sounds and optional firebox lighting, 2 or 4 digit addressing, 14/28/128 speed steps with back emf, ability to change whistle type without difficult CV programming.
