Title: GP38-2
Post by: quark51 on July 15, 2018, 01:02:53 PM
I recently picked a couple of Bachmann GP38-2s and they are very nice locomotives, too bad the Bachmann GP40 and GP50 are not up to the same standard.

I have a gp 40 and the drive mechanism is the same identical as the gp 38 -2 and the gp 50.

Understandable since the gp 38-2 is of new tooling for the shell. The gp 40 and 50 are old tooling from the 80's or even earlier.

The GP 38-2 is my go to Locomotive.  I suggest the Sound Value model if you run DCC. Very smooth running.
