Title: 250T Boom and Crane Car
Post by: ike8120 on January 29, 2008, 08:18:01 AM
I have just acguired a NIB 250T crane and boom car with Rapido couplers. I am trying to convert to  MT couplers. Since my eyesight is not the best. I would like know if there are replacement trucks with couplers available. I don't know what MT truck and coupler will fit.

Thanks in advance

Click on Buckeye for the crane and Roller Bearing for the boom car. You have a choice of coupler length on the roller bearing trucks.

Thank you for the reply.  Does it make a difference on the coupler length. If it does how do I tell what lenght is needed?

You're welcome.

I used the short coupler on my set, and have found that the short coupler is the best for most of my cars. Coupler length is dependent on the car truck mounting location and the curves used on your layout. Sharper curves sometimes need longer couplers to allow for movement without derailing.
