Title: Spectrum 4-6-0 DCC Ready
Post by: richG on May 30, 2008, 11:51:46 AM
I just received this loco. It cost me $93.00 with shipping. I like to install my own decoders. The tender will need speaker holes. I knew that before I ordered as I found a tutorial on installing sound in the 4-6-0.
Anyone considering this loco with sound might consider ordering it with sound if you do not care doing the required work. Micro Mark has the sound version for around $168.

I have started on the install. Here is a Koibtone speaker, 20mm X 27mm facing up in the tender as the 4-6-0 does not have speaker holes like the Richmond. The black is liquid vinyl that I picked up when I was working as an industrial machine mechanic.

Next is installing the Micro-Tsunmai decoder.
