Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Thomas & Friends in 2020

LBSC Thomas is really nice to see especially coming from the person who drew a LBSC Thomas concept. It's very nice to see.

Busy Bee James is unexpected and a bit weird but I welcome it. The reception on Twitter for it is actually pretty positive. Probably because it's simply a good recolor.

N Scale James & Tankers. Good, good. The prices are iffy but you could always find it for cheaper. The NG Brakevans are good too but I wish they'll do a Brown one for goods trains eventually.

Large Scale Diesel is ABSOLUTELY welcome. I'm so glad that I was actually right about it coming back, considering all those who doubted.

Overall, all this plus Daisy, Peter Sam, and the other N Scale products, this is a pretty good year for Bachmann.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Thomas Concepts

So I made these concepts a little while ago and I thought I'd link them here. Sorry it took me so long to...

First is a genuine concept for a Bachmann LBSC Thomas. I did take some liberties with this concept by giving it a front coupling, a new lamp, and a new face. But anyways, here it is.

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1181644627897548801?s=21 - LBSC Thomas

The second one is more of a joke concept. Requested by @LightandCoal on Twitter. It's the famous (or infamous) fan character, Timothy the Ghost Engine In Bachmann form. This one's just a joke, don't take it seriously.

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1181588955206012928?s=21 - Timothy  :P

Hope you all enjoy these concepts and I hope you don't mind the joke concepts. If y'all do, I won't link anymore joke concepts.

Personally I think Paxton is my least favorite model. His face just looks so off to me. Grumpy Diesel is kinda lazy but the face is still a great face. And Red Rosie looks great.

I also feel that the rolling stock recolors are really over hated honestly. I really like the looks of most of them and wish they could be real rolling stock in the show. I especially love the Toffee Tanker. Hope it gets an HO release.

If I had to pick some cars I don't like though, they'd have to be the green mail van, the diesel fuel co. Tanker (should've been a Dieselworks tanker), and the blue mining car (even though it's not out yet).

Part of me is sad that they're just the HO/G Scale versions but scaled down (would've liked either different faces or even CGI style faces).

But it still looks amazing and I'm excited to see what Thomas, Percy, and the coaches look. Hopefully Annie and Clarabel will be changed a bit.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Stepney or Ryan?
September 30, 2019, 01:04:37 AM
After two hundred and sixty eight votes, my Stepney VS Ryan poll on Twitter came to a close. The final results were Ryan with 35% and Stepney with the winning 65%.

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1177613910821588992?s=21

Now this is only a little over 250 votes but it's clear that Stepney is very popular with the casual Twitter audience.

Of course, many people do want Ryan as well and he'd be a great model for Bachmann to make. But it's clear that most want Stepney first. Understandable considering he's an iconic classic character.

Thomas & Friends / Bachmann Thomas Concepts
September 27, 2019, 06:50:24 PM
Hey everyone! This new thread is for posting concepts/ideas for models and products that Bachmann could make in the Thomas and Friends range, whether it be HO, HOn30, G, or N.

This will be the main place where I post links to any Bachmann concepts I make on my Twitter. But anyone can make concepts and showcase them on this thread. Artwork, physical models, maybe even just a text description, you name it!

Anyways, just for convenience sake, here are all four of the Bachmann concepts I've made so far. Just so they can all be in one place and so that those who haven't seen them yet can see them...

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1177613904421064704?s=21 — Stepney

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1176567007338041344?s=21 — Ryan

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1155648220262854656?s=21 — Green NG Coach

https://twitter.com/streaksmeargle/status/1155658970951872512?s=21 — Refreshment Coach

Which one's your fav and what other concepts would you like me to do next? Hope you like them.

I'm impressed with those two concepts as well as your Ryan picture too.  They are really spot on to how they would turn out.  Even if Bachmann made a refreshment coach I would buy that since I always liked that episode despite not being from season 4.  Definitely interested to see Stepney and what other concepts you plan on doing in the future.  Might not be a bad idea to post your own thread for your concepts too so you can keep us informed. :)

Thanks so much! I'm really glad you like them! Also, having my own thread for concepts ain't such a bad idea when you mention it... I'll look into it!  :) ;D

I guess I'll post my predictions/want list for next year's announcements then cause I don't believe I did after the sudden Daisy and Peter Sam announcement months ago.

Personally I think we will get announcements in February next year but unless they really simple recolors, they won't be out till 2021.

For HO Scale, of course Stepney and Ryan are the hot ticket picks. Stepney would be great for the 75th and Ryan would go great with Daisy. I feel it could really go either way. It's that close.

I would really love Stanley cause he's my fav character but until Stepney or Ryan get made, I don't see him being in the running anytime soon. Same goes for other characters like Nia, Rebecca, Philip, etc. (Also maybe LBSC Thomas as a recolor)

As for rolling stock, I predict red express coaches rerelease and other recolors like brown Mail Van and hopefully the Toffee Tanker in HO finally.

Going on to Narrow Gauge, I could predict Sir Handel but I feel they may take a break from NG engines and just do rolling stock. I'm predicting NG Brake Vans and maybe a Green NG Coach (like my concept) if lucky.

As for the N Scale range, maybe we could get a new announcement like James or a Starter Set, but we haven't even seen the N Scale products yet so I'm holding off on those. Same with Large Scale as it's still in a real weird place rn.

Anyways, those are my predictions for now. May change them in the future. Idk. Tried to be conservative in case they barely have any announcements next year.

Honestly if you ask me, I can't really decide which one I would want more. I agree with both picks.

I think Stepney would be perfect to announce next year for the anniversary being a classic character and all. And while I'm indifferent to him as a character, I known a lot of other people want him and he has a good design.

As for Ryan, he fits overall imo considering he's in the current show, has a unique design as well, and would be perfect to release after or close to Daisy.

Basically my final stance on it is that I'm on Team Stepney for a 75th anniversary announcement. If he's not announced next year, then I'd switch to being on both sides (mostly on Ryan's side tho).

The green narrow gauge coach looks fantastic; I'd buy it day-one. I also saw you did Ryan; he looks about as much as I'd expect a Bachmann product to as well, you got the look pretty accurately. If you don't plan on doing Stepney in the near future, I might consider taking a whack at it myself!

Thanks! Glad you liked my concepts! I definitely plan to do Stepney in the future considering how he and Ryan are the most wanted engines currently and then I'd move on to other possible characters.

So TerencetheTractor525 encouraged me to share these so here goes nothing.

On Twitter, I draw a lot of merchandise concepts for many different lines. Sometimes I do Bachmann concepts. Here's two narrow gauge concepts. A Green Narrow Gauge Coach and the Refreshment Stand Coach! Hope you enjoy!

One really cool character to see in 2020 would be Winston he is seen in the show a lot and is a very iconic character

Bachmann has already made a G scale Winston and he does not have the moving eyes
so all Bachmann has to do is scale it down to HO scale

Bachmann could use there Wickham trolley tooling just some small changes

what do you guys think  :) thanks for reading,
  thomas fan.

Probably too small to put the eye mech in tho, it would be pretty small too. Would be cool tho

To be fair, the Large Scale Winston doesn't have moving eyes either. An HO Scale Winston would be pretty small but it's been shown he doesn't need the moving eyes.

Thomas & Friends / Re: The Bachmann Daisy Thread

I was honestly not expecting her at this point, especially not now! I'm so excited for her. Seems like Daisy won the Daisy VS Stepney battle surprisingly.

Now after her, we need HO Scale Ryan to complete the Harwick duo (Or maybe Stanley plz)
