nah i KNOW that
isnt their a cicuit breaker within the pack?

i wanted to ask BEFOR i burnt the house down.
because i have two power packs
1 powers the trains
and i want the other to power the lights
if it doesnt power the trains, will it have more electricity for the lights?

i know lights go on ac power.

trains+1 light= good

no trains+4 lights=?....

HO / DC power supply
November 07, 2007, 09:19:34 PM
i have a 4/8 layout... a dc set
with 3 dc trains
and i have 2 dc bachmann power packs i hooked up and i was wondering how many lights can it power?  Undecided
because i have 4 small lights i want to power with a bachmann steam sound station i bought on ebay
even though the instructions say you should only put one accesory into each,
will it be enough to power it and run 1 train?
yes call me unprofessional...

Fyi ill put some pictures of the layout within the week.  : Tongue

robot chicken makes fun of every thing in everyday life we accept and i think it's preety clever.
the creators dont have to be drunk or high
there flexing there freedom of speech with toatale disregard for people's opinions. Me?
i thought it was funny.
and i think there was more  controversial  content that would be more worthy of a cancel.  ::)

thanks about that
im sorry but  did you mean this as well:
does it fit into e-z track and able to control the train speed?

just because it seems to have different wires than the e-z command.  :o

i saw one of those on ebay for a really cheap price and i was wondering
would it work with e-z track and bachmann trains...
so does it?
does it have to do with some sort of NMRA compliant system?
is it?

General Discussion / Re: Steam locomotives
September 04, 2007, 06:37:24 PM
at average speeds ill put straight and simple
it depends on kind , amount of cars and age

this doesnt nessecerly factor in the kind of loco

in 1829 (when the planet locomotive was realased)
the top speed was between 15-30 miles per hour

in 1849 the top speed was around 40 to 50 miles per hour

in 1869 the top speed was around 70-100 miles per hour

in 1899 the top speed was around 100 and 110 miles per hour

and stayed at that for steam in risk of malfuction and other dangerous possibilities. and with the invention of electric trains the focus was taken away.

The fastest  steam train was the mallard of the 30's 40's and 50's which broke the steam record to this day at 126 miles an hour
now there are electric and diesel trains which can easily pass that speed
but its surprising what water pressure could make move
at around 1950's steam loco's began disapearing for more efficent kinds
there are still some for tourism use.

i my self find steam trains much more appealing because of there sort of trade mark chug and such
was the first
i think the best

enjoy steam  ;D

General Discussion / ON30 VERSUS HO
September 03, 2007, 01:19:44 AM
i know for a fact that ho and on30
trains fit on the same size track...
i have some basic questions ive wondered about their comparison

does 0n-30 need more electrical draw than ho?

if i were to buy 0n30 rolling stock and ho rolling stock
would their couplers fit together?

if i bought some on30 scenery (if there is such thing)
and ho scenery
(such as houses and trees)
would i be able to tell the difference in the layout?

does the spectrum line have only ho? or does it have 0n-30?

and ive seen charts http://64.251.10.24/~worldofw/shoptlc/images/Information/Scale.gif

and it seems that on-30 are larger than ho
and i have heard the word "narrow gauge" used with it
what does that mean
and how do they fit on the same track?

Thanks
just wondering  : :o  ::)  :P
