HO / Re: Bachmann HO Dynamis Turnouts
March 05, 2012, 12:17:31 PM
Hunt: Thx for responding: I called the # at Bachmann on a Monday morning at 10:00 & got an human response immediately!!! I was told earlier that I should program my LOCOs on the main track but to use the service track program. The guy I talked to today said that whenever I program a LOCO that the decoders in the turnouts pick it up. Therefore the turnouts are trying to respond to the LOCO program. All I have to do is program all of the LOCOs, THEN program the turnouts!!!

Why does my system's turnouts forget their programmed settings whenever I program a new loco? What am I doing wrong?

Hunt: I appreciate your interest. This is what make this hobby so much fun.
Answer #1. Yes
             #2.only one loco on track
#3.it doesn"t seem to make a difference which loco. Locos are Spectrum (#4

)& BLI Paragon(#2).
#4.10 turnouts. addressed w instructions per Bachmann package.

HO / Switches (turnouts)
November 08, 2011, 12:18:33 PM
Whenever I program a new loco on my Dynamis DCC system the system
'forgets" the previously programmed switches(turnouts). Then if I reprogram all of the switches everything is fine. None of the previous loco programs are affected. Is this just the way it works or am I doing something wrong? I also note that when I press the numerical keys ( on the left of the panel of the Dynamis controller), the screen disply never just shows up as 0001, but as something like 0041 and I have to toggle thru w 0's to get to 0001 and activate that switch.??????? Am I doing something wrong, or has my Dyamis system been invaded by an alien or is this just the way the system works. Otherwise everthng is fine.

HO / "Wire Glue"

Anyone have any information re: "Wire Glue"? I'm thinking of using it on track joint joiners for continuity instead of soldering ALL of those joints.

THX to all for your responses. This communication is one reason model railroading is so much fun. I have one other question. Mike Polsgrove in his books re: Wiring for DCC,. recommends soldering each rail joint for good continuity but I wonder if the judicious application of the product "Wire Glue" would be acceptable?

HO / DCC Wye

Am I correct in assuming that the isolated tail section of a DCC Wye that has an auto reverse module should NOT be connected back to a mainline track and simply terminate in a dead end?

HO / Connections for Dynamis and 5 amp Booster

I cannot find any specific directions for the exact hookup between the Dynamis and the 5 amp booster. Pls specify exact connections from start to finish.

HO / Dynamis connection
July 12, 2011, 10:31:10 AM
On the Dynamis Command Station, can I use both of the output connectors at the same time for connections to the track or must I use only one or the other? In other words, are they both 'hot' at the same time or does using one 'kill' the other?

HO / Re: electrification of WYE
June 10, 2011, 09:57:53 AM
Jeff: Thanks again for your help. Unfortunately, I am still confused on one point. Using the Bachmann EZ track 9" power terminal w insulated gap #44597, assuming I would attach it as the next piece of track on the tail of the WYE headed up ( with the contact arms open and gapped), how do I place the reverse loop module connections between the DCC power supply wires and the track? Am I correct in assuming all of the rails leading to and from the WYE are gapped(isolated)? I believe I do understand the reverse loop module connections in a true reverse loop, but the WYE thing still baffles me on how to connect it. Thanks again. Donn B.

HO / Re: electrification of WYE

Jerry: Think of the mainline as a horizontal line. There are two turnouts, a left on the left & a right on the right, with both curved sections headed up towards each other . as the tracks progress, they each go up into each of the two curved legs of the WYE. of course this continues as one into the tail of the WYE. To reconstruct--As the train leaves the mainline into either turnout it will progress onto & into the WYE then continue thru the WYE into the tail (straight) part of the WYE. After the entire train passes thru the tail then it will be reversed & backed down thru the other leg of the WYE into and thru the other  turnout and onto the mainline . Now the train will be reversed from the original direction.
