Picked up my new Shay on Thursday afternoon and finally got a chance to break it in a bit.  Front truck is still a bit tight but I'll get that taken care of.  Detail and sound are great.  In a week or two I'll get it lettered and weathered.  Really doesn't fit with my theme, but you folks can relate to the "gotta have one."  The 2-8-0 is one of two with DCC/sound.  Those guys run flawlessly all the time, every time and on a couple of 15" radius turns too.

HO / Layout pics
April 13, 2008, 08:11:54 PM
After 15 years I'm getting back into the  hobby on a bit smaller scale.  Last layout was 16' x 20' so I'm finding this 6' x 9' layout much less daunting.  It's built inside a playhouse I built for my daughter about 6 years ago.  She agreed to let me take it over, but to be honest she's in there more than I am and she's a wiz at the Digitrax (she's 7!).  This is my freelance design on paper and then refined with the help of Riley Triggs in 3rd Planit.  Having a CAD program of the layout was the best thing I EVER did in layout planning.  Trees and structures are just temporary (I have over 1000 trees and numerous structures). So without any further introduction:

Move 6 years forward...

All inside a 6' x' 9' with enouth room for two.

HO / Steam for an 18" radius
February 23, 2008, 08:54:41 PM
Hi,

What steam engines equipped with DCC and sound can handle an 18" radius?

I have one 18" curve in a tunnel, absolutely love steam, love Tsunami sound, and now need some options.  Oh ya, lazy and prefer an engine with everything installed.

Thanks!
