I need some wheels for the amtrak amfleet passenger cars. I can't find any in the parts and service info area on this site. I don't care who the manufacturer is. Also what is the size (real world) of these wheels? Thanks
To Billim 10454 : Passenger Car wheels are usually 36" diameter in the real world . Check out The Walthers Web site and look in their section of "Trucks & Wheelsets " there are a good number of companies that make wheelsets that will fit / Measure the overall length of the axles & check the kind of points that fit your frames . Having a copy of their reference catalog on hand is a good investment . John 2. Good Luck .
Thank you John for the info I will check it out
The Amfleet cars use 'inside bearing' wheelsets, which are not easy to find.
These guys http://www.trainworld.com/manufacturers/walthers-ho-n/walthers-proto-HO-920-series/proto-trucks-couplers-and-wheels/walthers-920-2131-amfleet-inside-bearing-truck-1-pair-black/ (http://www.trainworld.com/manufacturers/walthers-ho-n/walthers-proto-HO-920-series/proto-trucks-couplers-and-wheels/walthers-920-2131-amfleet-inside-bearing-truck-1-pair-black/) still have some of the Walthers 'Amfleet' replacement trucks. They don't come up on the Walthers web site, so may be out of production.

I don't know if the axle diameters are right, but the right wheel diameter (36-inch) is available with flush axles, and with three tread widths from this firm.

This is the "stock" wheel width that Bachmann sells.
36"/110 Flush 2.0 x .797 axle (4) 37128-4
This is a somewhat narrower wheel, which improves appearance but is still able to run on most commercial track.
36"/88 Flush 2 .0 x .751" axle (4) 37228-4
This is a true scale width and small flange wheel, but it will require track to match. This is what is also called Proto:87.
36"/64 Flush 2.0 x .751"axle (4) 37627-4

I have 3 trucks with wheels from Bachmanns amfleet cars if you need them.
