I'm planning on modeling one of the Chicago and Northwestern 400's.  I haven't been able to find much of a selection of manufacturers of items in the Cnw roadname.  I see Walthers has a good selection, and Rapido seems to make several cars.   Are there any other manufactures I should look at?  What are your personnel opinions on the brands, pros/cons (minimum turn radius ect.).  Greatly appreciate the sharing of your wisdom.

HO / decoders and sound
March 27, 2007, 11:18:10 PM
I'm sure this may have already been covered else where in this forum.  I'm want to upgrade 3 locomotives to DCC and sound. My question is this I'd like to go with NCE decoders, but it doesn't look like they sell them with sound, or am I mistaken?  If I'm going with sound would another brand such as Digitraxx be a better choice?  The main reason I'm leaning toward NCE is they sell a decoder that replaces the factory installed circuitboard in my SW9/1200.

General Discussion / Passenger Cars question
March 15, 2007, 12:09:10 AM
I'm in the process of buying passenger cars for my planned layout, being new I'm not sure what the correct type of car, (heavyweight, Streamlined) to run with a Chicago & Northwestern E6A engine.  Does anyone know of a good source for this type of information.   The last time I saw a C&NW passenger train I thought they were streamliners, but that was over 30 years ago, but for some reason I want to say that the engine being used for that was a F7.  Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.
